The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is an ultra-high performance summer tyre developed in collaboration with Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz, and currently specified as original equipment on more than 60 of the world's highest performing vehicles. Engineered for sports cars, supercars, and high-powered luxury performance vehicles, it is designed for road and occasional track use where no compromise is acceptable between dry grip, wet traction, and longevity.
A silica-enhanced tread compound inspired by Michelin's experience at the 24 Hours of Le Mans uses a novel hybrid elastomer for dry grip and functional elastomers with silica for wet grip and braking, while Dynamic Response Technology uses a hybrid aramid and nylon belt for ultra-precise steering, outstanding cornering power, and extended tread life. The computer-modelled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 evenly distributes vehicle weight during hard cornering, improving lateral grip and heat distribution both on the road and on track. Select sizes are also available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which adds a sound-absorbing foam inner liner to reduce cabin noise during road driving. Independent testing consistently ranks the Pilot Sport 4S at or near the top of the ultra-high performance category for both dry lap times and wet braking distances.

Bi-Compound asymmetric tread technology: Two different rubber compounds are used side by side in the same tread, with a dry-focused hybrid elastomer on the outer shoulder and a silica-enhanced wet compound on the inner zone. Le Mans-inspired silica tread compound: The compound formulation draws directly from Michelin's endurance racing development, tuned to maintain grip across the temperature ranges generated by sustained high-performance road and track driving. Michelin Acoustic Technology foam liner (select sizes): A polyurethane foam layer bonded to the inner liner absorbs resonance before it travels into the vehicle cabin.
